Spanish global superstar Rosalía made an emotional return to the stage on Thursday, June 11, at Boston’s TD Garden, following a family emergency that forced her to postpone several opening dates of the North American leg of her highly anticipated LUX World Tour.
Addressing the sold-out crowd, Rosalía spoke candidly about the difficult circumstances that led to her temporary absence and thanked fans for their patience and support.
“I had to be absent last week. Thank you for understanding. Loved ones need to come first,” she told the audience. “And being here with you, I think that when something unexpected and painful happens, it can be hard to keep going. But I truly believe that this is worth it. And I thank you for coming.”
The singer continued her heartfelt message by promising to give everything she had during the performance.
“I’m going to do this show with all the love that I have. And hopefully there’s something in it that you can take with you, I hope. Honestly, that would make me happier. I love you guys so much.”
Rosalía’s emotional return comes just one week after the postponement of several Florida dates on her North American tour. On June 4, Live Nation announced that her scheduled performances at Miami’s Kaseya Center and Orlando’s Kia Center would be postponed due to a family emergency, stating that the artist had “no other choice” under the circumstances.
The affected Florida shows have since been rescheduled for September, with Orlando now set for Sept. 9 and Miami performances taking place on Sept. 14 and 16.
Fans in New York will also see a slight adjustment to the tour schedule. Rosalía is now expected to perform at Madison Square Garden on June 17 and 18, giving audiences in the city two opportunities to experience one of the most acclaimed live productions of the year.
Following her Boston comeback, Rosalía’s next stop will be Toronto, where she is scheduled to perform on June 13 at the Scotiabank Arena.
Despite the unexpected setback, Rosalía’s emotional return demonstrated the deep connection she shares with her fans and reaffirmed her commitment to bringing the LUX World Tour to audiences across North America.
