Mexican musician Jonathan Meléndez, keyboardist for the rock band Camilo Séptimo, was found dead alongside three members of his family at an apartment in Atizapán de Zaragoza, a municipality northwest of Mexico City, according to authorities in the State of Mexico.

The State of Mexico Prosecutor’s Office confirmed the deaths on Wednesday, Sept. 2, after municipal police responded to the residential complex a day earlier and discovered four deceased victims inside the property.

Authorities said one of the victims was four months pregnant. A 6-year-old child was also found inside the apartment alive and unharmed.

Two people have been arrested in connection with the deaths as investigators continue working to determine the circumstances surrounding the case and establish responsibility.

Meléndez was known for his work as keyboardist with Camilo Séptimo, part of Mexico’s contemporary alternative and rock music scene. News of his death and that of his relatives has brought a tragic development for those connected to the group and its audience.

Authorities have not yet publicly disclosed a motive in the information released so far, and the investigation remains ongoing.
