Rock al Parque is preparing for a milestone edition in Bogotá, bringing together more than 60 artists from Colombia and around the world to celebrate three decades as one of Latin America’s most important free music festivals.
The 2026 edition will take over Parque Simón Bolívar from Oct. 10-12, with an ambitious international lineup spanning alternative rock, metal, punk, ska, reggae and other genres across four stages.
Among the biggest names confirmed for the anniversary celebration are Ministry, Editors, Mon Laferte, Apocalyptica, Los Bunkers, Rata Blanca and Porter, giving this year’s festival a particularly diverse international profile.
The complete lineup was announced Wednesday, Aug. 26, by Bogotá’s Instituto Distrital de las Artes (Idartes), following the previous announcement of 26 local artists selected to participate in the festival.
A Global Lineup Comes to Bogotá
Heavy music will have a major presence throughout the three-day event. Finnish power metal veterans Stratovarius are among the international performers, joining American acts Between the Buried and Me, Algiers and Darkest Hour.
Sweden will be represented by Grave and Hellbutcher, while Switzerland contributes Burning Witches and Triptykon with Hellhammer and Celtic Frost, adding even more weight to the festival’s metal programming.
But Rock al Parque’s identity has always extended beyond traditional rock and metal.
Japan’s Tokyo Ska Paradise Orchestra will bring its energetic ska sound to Bogotá, while Venezuela’s legendary Desorden Público joins a lineup that also includes Chilean reggae group Gondwana.
Spain will be represented by Green Valley and Iseo & Dodosound, further expanding a bill designed to showcase the many musical movements that have developed around alternative culture.
Three Decades of Rock al Parque
Celebrating its 30th anniversary represents a significant milestone for a festival that has become deeply connected to Bogotá’s cultural identity.
Over the decades, Rock al Parque has provided Colombian musicians with a massive platform while simultaneously bringing international artists to audiences through its free-admission model.
The 2026 edition continues that tradition by combining established global acts with a strong representation of Bogotá’s local music scene.
The anniversary also underscores the festival’s evolution. What began primarily as a celebration of rock has grown into a broader gathering encompassing metal, punk, alternative music, ska, reggae and other sounds without abandoning the rebellious spirit at its core.
With more than 60 performers, four stages and three days of free music, Rock al Parque’s 30th anniversary is shaping up to be one of Bogotá’s biggest cultural events of 2026 — and another reminder of the Colombian capital’s influential place within Latin America’s live music scene.
