Ariana Grande is using her platform to champion an issue that has long remained behind the scenes in the music business: mental health. Through her newly established Brighter Days Ahead Foundation, the global superstar has partnered with nonprofit organization Backline to provide comprehensive mental health resources for everyone working on her Eternal Sunshine Tour.

The initiative extends beyond the spotlight, ensuring that dancers, musicians, technicians, production staff, and crew members have access to professional mental health care throughout the demanding tour schedule.

As part of the partnership, every member of Grande’s touring team now has access to financial grants that help cover the cost of mental health services, along with enrollment in Backline’s Case Management Program, which connects individuals with licensed therapists, counselors, and wellness professionals tailored to their specific needs.

To celebrate the launch of the initiative, the Brighter Days Ahead Foundation also distributed 200 wellness care packages to crew members. Each tote bag included carefully selected stress-relief essentials such as lavender oil, eye masks, resistance bands, chamomile tea, lip balm, and other self-care products designed to promote relaxation during life on the road.

“During a run of sold-out shows, Backline was there for Ariana’s band and crew,” said Hilary Gleason, Backline’s co-founder and executive director. “Through Brighter Days Ahead Foundation’s partnership, we’re able to provide for the music industry’s needs in a more sustainable way.”

Introducing B-LINE: 24/7 Mental Health Support

One of the most significant outcomes of the collaboration is the creation of B-LINE, a dedicated 24-hour mental health support line exclusively for professionals working in the music industry.

Although Grande only publicly introduced the Brighter Days Ahead Foundation earlier this year, the organization had already been quietly supporting Backline by helping fund the crisis hotline through its Heal & Dream Fund, one of the foundation’s four philanthropic pillars.

According to Backline, more than 400 music industry professionals have already reached out to B-LINE for assistance, underscoring the growing demand for accessible mental health resources within the entertainment community.

A Foundation Focused on Care and Inclusion

When announcing the Brighter Days Ahead Foundation in June, Grande described its mission as one rooted in compassion, protection, and community support.

“Our mission is to support, protect and provide resources for our vulnerable friends in need,” Grande said at the time.

The foundation operates through four dedicated funds that support mental health initiatives, LGBTQ+ organizations, emergency relief efforts, and other programs designed to create safe spaces and provide immediate assistance for communities facing hardship.

A New Standard for the Touring Industry

Touring has long been recognized as one of the most physically and emotionally demanding aspects of the music business. Long travel schedules, constant performances, and extended time away from family can take a significant toll on artists and crew alike.

By placing mental wellness at the center of her touring operation, Ariana Grande is helping redefine what artist leadership can look like in today’s music industry. Rather than focusing solely on the performers in front of the audience, the initiative recognizes the hundreds of professionals working behind the scenes whose well-being is equally essential to every successful show.

As conversations surrounding mental health continue to evolve across the entertainment industry, Grande’s partnership with Backline may serve as a blueprint for future tours—demonstrating that supporting the people behind the music can be just as important as creating the music itself.
