Grupo Frontera donates porcentage of all proceeds from EP “Y Lo Que Viene” to charities on the frontlines supporting the Latin community

Award-winning música Mexicana group, Grupo Frontera, released their surprise EP “Y Lo Que Viene” today, pledging a portion of all proceeds to charities on the frontlines supporting the Latin community. In a statement posted earlier to social media Grupo Frontera announced their support:

In light of the ongoing events across the country and the injustices faced by our fellow immigrants, we feel a deep responsibility to use our platform and music to make a difference.

Today marks the long-awaited release of our EP “Y Lo Que Viene”. While we’ve been planning this moment for months, it takes on new meaning now. We will be donating a percentage of all proceeds to organizations on the frontlines, fighting for and supporting our communities.

We also encourage our listeners to take action—whether that means donating, protesting, educating others, or simply showing up for those in need. Every voice matters.

“Y Lo Que Viene” Tracklist:

1. “Mutuo” featuring Carin Leon
2. “La Buena Eres Tú” featuring Neton Vega
3. “Qué Haces Por Acá?” featuring Mister Chivo
4. “No Se Parece a Ti”
5. “La Del Processo” featuring Manuel Turizo

Historically dominating the charts with fellow Musica Mexicana powerhouse Carin Leon, Grupo Frontera once again teams up with Leon on “Mutuo” delivering a heartfelt song about the heartbreak of unreciprocated love. The song explores the pain of realizing a relationship wasn’t as genuine as believed and the difficulty of moving on from broken trust and unanswered devotion. Previously released track “La Buena Eres Tú” alongside Neton Vega, channels raw emotion, recounting heartbreak, regret and even endless love, complete with a heartfelt chorus that creates depth and longing through the track. The video was filmed in the San Nicolás de Los Garza neighborhood of  Monterrey, Mexico.

For “Qué Haces Por Acá,” Grupo Frontera taps legendary Mexican act Mister Chivo who dominated the genre in the early 80s & 90s and is known for contributing to the sounds synonymous with the Mexican-Texas region. The group’s guitar player Luis Alberto Barrera, also happens to be the father of one of the greatest composers and producers of modern time, Edgar Barrera. Having produced and composed all of Grupo Frontera’s catalogue to date, Edgar Barrera also composed and produced “Y Lo Que Viene” alongside Grupo Frontera.

In “No Se Parece a Ti” Grupo Frontera delivers a stirring narrative of emotional contradiction, telling the story of a man who thought they found peace in someone completely unlike his ex —but he quickly realizes that she lacks the passion and connection he still craves. Despite her seeming perfection, he confesses that he feels nothing when he’s with her and still imagines his ex during their most intimate moments. After their collaboration “De Lunes a Lunes” Grupo Frontera teamed up with Manuel Turizo once again for the release of the focus track“La Del Processo.” The song captures the emotional weight of a costly mistake in love, regretting trading a genuine love for someone who only appeared valuable on the surface. When Manuel Turizo comes in, the beat makes a dramatic shift — amplifying the intensity of the regret and bringing a new layer of emotion to the story of love lost and lessons learned. The music video captures Grupo Frontera exchanging a few drinks and performing in a quiet bar while visibly weighed down by heartbreak as they reflect on past moments cutting between scenes of past memories of moving in together. When Manuel Turizo joins, the setting shifts to a lively club, where the energy rises but the emotional tension remains — highlighted by a girl trying to reach them, visibly upset and ignored.
