The four-month old baby girl is the fashion publication’s youngest cover star.
Following Lupita Nyong’o’s January 2018 cover, Vogue debuted its next star for the February issue on Wednesday morning: Serena Williams and her daughter Alexis Olympia Ohanian, Jr., photographed by Mario Testino. Williams, styled by fashion editor Tonne Goodman, wears Versace while the little one is dressed in a comfy white onesie. Though mother-child duos are nothing new for Vogue — Amber Valletta posed with her son Auden for its July 2002 cover — the four-month old baby girl is the fashion publication’s youngest cover star, according to Williams, who revealed the image on Instagram.
The superstar athlete has been making the rounds on Condé Nast covers to coincide with her major life moments thus far. Over the summer, she showcased her pregnancy on the August 2017 cover of Vanity Fair, and in addition to being on the cover of Vogue‘s family-focused issue, Williams also stars on the February/March 2018 cover of Brides, wearing her (second) wedding dress by Versace.
