Yesterday, former President Barack Obama tweeted a family picture captioned “On behalf of the Obama family, Merry Christmas! We wish you joy and peace this holiday season.” Though the picture, which features Barack, Michelle, Malia, Sasha, and a bunch of little helper elves, was likely from a previous year, the internet still mourned the Obamas’ absence.

Several replies to the above tweet just read “WE MISS YOU.” Others elaborated:
Merry Christmas to one of the most respected, honest, caring individuals on the planet.

Every time you pop on my Twitter feed I hear the song "Baby come back" in my head.

Please come back, Trump is trying to kill us, we miss you, Merry Christmas.
Hi, Michelle, love you, kiss the kids for me.

Not that anyone’s counting, but Obama’s tweet has about 200,000 more retweets than any of Donald Trump’s Christmas-related ones. Hope everyone had a great holiday. 🙂
