Maluma Cancels Concert In Rome Due To Security Risks

Colombian superstar Maluma has been forced to cancel his first-ever concert in Rome.

It has confirmed that the local Italian promoter oversold the venue by at least the double amount of tickets for the show at the Atlantico Live Roma. As a result, Rome’s culture department was forced to cancel 500 tickets over safety and capacity concerns.

“This has not been an easy decision to make,” Maluma said in a statement. “The last thing I wanted to do was to disappoint my Roman fans for whom I have dreamed of performing for many years; but taking into consideration security concerns from local experts, I have been forced to cancel this Sunday’s [Oct. 8] concert. I would never risk anybody’s safety, let alone that of my fans.”

The “Felices los 4” singer has promised that he will return to Rome as soon as it is possible for him to do so and will select a venue that can accommodate more people. Fans who purchased tickets for the show will be able to secure a refund. Maluma’s Europe tour will continue on Friday (Oct. 6)  at Pala Yamamy in Milan and Saturday (Oct. 7) at the Palapartenope in Naples. From Italy the singer travels to Israel for his first concert ever in Tel Aviv, at a Live Park Rishon on Oct. 12.
